The World Rowing Masters Regatta is one of the largest gatherings in the sport, and the 2026 edition is held on Lake Bled in Slovenia from 8 to 12 September. This is mass-participation rowing rather than elite medal racing, open to entered crews across the masters age categories from roughly 27 upwards.
Bled is one of rowing's most photographed venues, a mountain lake with the island church and clifftop castle framing the course. For many masters rowers it sits firmly on the bucket list, as much for the setting as for the racing. Crews come from clubs around the world to share the water.
Entries span a wide range of ages and abilities, grouped so that crews line up against others of similar vintage. The atmosphere leans social as much as competitive, with the regatta drawing thousands of rowers to one of the most scenic corners of the calendar.
