Biography

Alexandra Foester, also written Alexandra Foerster, is a German rower who competes in the single sculls. Born on 13 January 2002 in Meschede, Germany, she rows for Ruderclub Meschede. In 2019 she won the single sculls title at the World Rowing Junior Championships. She went on to win the single sculls at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships three times, in 2021, 2022 and 2024.

Foester moved into senior competition for Germany in the women's single sculls. At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games she finished seventh in the single sculls, winning the B-final after missing the A-final by one place. She has also represented Germany at the European Rowing Championships and at World Rowing Cup regattas in the single sculls.

At the 2025 World Rowing Championships in Shanghai, Foester reached the A-final of the women's single sculls and finished fifth in a time of 7:26.31. Across her junior, under-23 and senior seasons through 2025, she recorded a junior world title, three under-23 world titles and an Olympic appearance for Germany in the single sculls.
