The World Rowing Championships are the pinnacle of the racing season, the one regatta that gathers the full programme of Olympic and non-Olympic boat classes in a single week. The 2026 edition is held in Amsterdam, on the historic Bosbaan, with racing across 23 to 29 August.

The Bosbaan is one of the sport's oldest purpose-built courses, a sheltered, tree-lined stretch with a long championship history. Its calm water rewards crews who can hold their rhythm under pressure, and the depth of the field means the margins at the top are fine ones.

Every leading nation sends its strongest crews to the World Championships, which makes the regatta the form line the rest of the season is measured against. World titles, national pride and selection arguments are all settled on the water of the Bosbaan.
