The Olympics add extra spice to the 2024 World Rowing Cup series. Each World Rowing Cup regatta is an opportunity to race and improve before the Paris 2024 Olympics, for those seeking internal selection and for crews who still hope to qualify for the Games.

What is the World Rowing Cup? It is a series of three regatta that happen every year. The annual series precede the World Rowing Championships which is the pinnacle event outside of an Olympic year. Each World Rowing Cup regatta lasts three days, starting with heats and progressing through to finals.

World Rowing Cup races include the 14 Olympic boat classes and a selection of non-Olympic boat classes, known as international boat classes. At some World Cups Para rowing is contested.

There are points available for each Olympic boat class, the number of points scored depends on finishing order. The highest placing boat from a country is awarded the following points which adds up towards the overall World Cup winning nation: 1st = 8 points, 2nd = 6 points, 3rd = 5 points, 4th = 4 points, 5th = 3 points, 6th = 2 points, 7th = 1 point.
