Uzbekistan topped the medal table on the second day of the 2026 World Rowing Cup II in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, taking two golds and a silver as the first finals of the regatta were raced on 13 June. Wins came in the PR2 mixed double sculls and the lightweight men’s double sculls, while Firdavs Akhunov added lightweight men’s single sculls silver. South Korea and Ukraine filled the next two places on the standings, courtesy of lightweight singles gold from Kim Jiseon and Igor Khmara respectively.

Beyond the medal races, the day’s semifinals set up a compelling Sunday programme. New Zealand’s Oliver Welch and Benjamin Taylor, reigning world champions in the men’s pair, posted the fastest semifinal time by five seconds. In the men’s double sculls, China’s Yi Xudi and Deng Zhiwei again clocked the quickest time, while Olympic champions Martin and Valent Sinkovic progressed in second. The men’s single sculls A-final will feature both American scullers, Jacob Plihal and Samuel Melvin, alongside Italy’s Gabriel Soares and the Turkish under-23 world champion Cevdet Ege Mutlu.
