Dr. Volker Nolte – Finding Rhythm

We all either rowed in a crew with “great rhythm” or know when we see such a crew. So, we know intuitively what “good rhythm” is. The trick is – as it often is – to teach it, since we know that a crew with “good rhythm” does not waste a lot of energy and normally also goes fast. So, let’s find some rhythm! Before we can “find” some rhythm, we need to know what rhythm is, how we can then objectively measure and evaluate it. This is not as simple as it sounds in the first place or there would be more crews already rowing with “good rhythm.”
