Great Britain led the way with 12 crews progressing and eight heat wins, Ireland advanced all eight of its boats, and France landed the fastest men’s four heat time of the day but lost one of their two men’s double sculls due to the medical withdrawal of Tokyo Olympic champion Hugo Boucheron. The Dutch also impressed with strong performances in the men’s single sculls, women’s double sculls and their big boats.
